Xu Si Fires Second Maximum of the Championship League

Xu Si made history at the Mattioli Arena on July 7th by compiling his second 147 break during this year's Championship League Snooker, adding to the tournament's remarkable tally of 46 century breaks so far. The world No. 34 had already flirted with perfection at the China Open qualifiers, missing a maximum by a single ball. This time there was no mistake. His latest maximum continues a superb run of form for Xu, who has been one of the standout performers of the new 2026/27 season. The Championship League concludes on July 15th with two winners' groups deciding the title.

Stage One Nears Its Climax in Leicester

The opening stage of the Championship League Snooker is entering its final days, with just three sessions left before all 32 group winners advance to stage two. Zhou Yuelong topped Group 13 with a battling draw and a clinical 86 break, while Mark Joyce and Ali Carter also booked their places in the next round after tense final-day finishes. Former World Champion Stuart Bingham narrowly missed out on progression in a three-way tiebreak. Attention now turns to Tuesday's action, which sees former World Champion Marco Fu and rising star Si Jiahui enter the competition for the first time this season.
