Hugill wins English Amateur Tour Title
Ashley Hugill triumphed over Mark Joyce 4-3 in the final of the fifth English Amateur Tour event of the 2024/25 season, held at the Landywood Snooker Club in Walsall. In a tense final, Joyce's early breaks of 108, 83, and 56 were overtaken by Hugill, who clinched the title with a 73-22 win in the final frame.

Liam Highfield topped the 2024/25 English Amateur Tour rankings after a remarkable season, which included a title and a memorable maximum break. The tour featured five prestigious events, attracting 136 players, a 10% increase from the previous season. Highfield, Barry Pinches, Ashley Hugill, and Kayden Brierley all secured titles, earning spots in the 2025 EBSA European Championships. Highfield, returning after 14 years on the World Snooker Tour, began with a 4-0 victory over Ryan Davies and a perfect 147 break. He finished tied with Pinches but claimed the top spot via the count-back rule, securing his place as the tour's standout performer.
