Global snooker updates from this week in an easy 5-minute read.

Wu Yize Ends His Wait With Shenzhen Open Title
World champion Wu Yize won his first title since his Crucible triumph, beating compatriot Yuan Sijun 10-5 in Sunday's Shenzhen Open final at the Bao'an Sports Centre. Wu opened with a break of 117, led 5-4 after the afternoon session, then won seven of the last eight frames to pull clear and wrap up victory with a 77-45 win in the 15th frame.
It was a week of statement wins for the 22-year-old, who knocked out Shaun Murphy and swept past Judd Trump 6-1 in the semi-finals on his way to the £177,000 top prize. "This time, I was able to be a little more composed than I was in winning my previous two titles," Wu said afterwards. The result lifts him to second in the world rankings behind Zhao Xintong.

Yuan Sijun's Breakthrough Week Ends One Step Short
Yuan Sijun may have lost the final, but the 30th seed enjoyed the best week of his career, reaching a first ranking final by beating Neil Robertson 6-5 in a semi-final that went the distance. In the title match he edged 4-3 ahead against his friend and practice partner Wu, and trailed only 5-4 at the interval.
The runner-up cheque of £76,000 is the biggest of Yuan's career and moves him back inside the world's top 32. Wu was full of praise for his opponent: "Yuan put me under a lot of pressure in the first session." It was the seventh ranking final in history between two players from mainland China.
