Xintong wins

Chinese snooker player Zhao Xintong has made a remarkable comeback by winning the 2025 World Snooker Championship, defeating Mark Williams 18–12. This victory is especially significant as it follows a 20-month suspension due to his involvement in a match-fixing scandal. Zhao was charged with betting on snooker matches and being aware of another player's deliberate game manipulation for financial gain. Although he was not personally involved in fixing matches, the suspension led to his loss of professional status, forcing him to qualify for the championship as an amateur.
