Kurt Dunham Triumphs to Claim First Australian National Snooker Championship
Tasmanian Kurt Dunham has captured his inaugural Australian National Snooker Championship title, edging out James Mifsud 6–5 in a gripping final at Melbourne’s RACV Club. The 33-year-old, a former World Snooker Tour professional, advanced through the field strongly—dropping only two frames before the quarterfinals, where he defeated Vinnie Calabrese 4–2. After a dominant semifinal whitewash over Xavier Daw, Dunham found himself down 3–1 in the final. But with composed breaks of 59 and 95, he surged ahead, never trailing again and clinched the title in the deciding 11th frame.
Igor Figueiredo Celebrated with Pan American Seniors Snooker Title
Brazilian veteran Igor Figueiredo delivered a dominant performance at the Pan American Seniors Snooker Championship, winning the 2025 edition in Sacramento. The 47-year-old outplayed Noel Rodrigues Morreira 4–1 in the final, adding another continental crown to his résumé. The tournament featured a strong field, with notable contenders such as Itaro Santos and Fabio Luersen also in attendance. Figueiredo's victory secures him another appearance at the prestigious World Seniors Championship at the Crucible Theatre. His impressive form continues following his recent success in the Q Tour Americas, where he claimed a title in Rio this July.
