Global snooker updates from this week in an easy 5-minute read

Chang sets new 147-break record

Chang Bingyu scored the first 147 break of his professional career during the third-round qualifying match of the UK Championship against Stephen Maguire. That perfect clearance pushed this season’s total of maximum breaks to 16 — surpassing the previous single-season record of 15. Despite the milestone, Chang lost the match 6–5. Because of the 147, he will share the £15,000 “high break” prize with Liam Pullen — unless another player matches it.

Greene goes back-to-back in Reading

Gerard Greene clinched victory over Alfie Burden 4–3 to win the fourth event of the season’s World Seniors Tour at The Crucible Club in Reading. This marks back-to-back wins for Greene in Reading — following his triumph earlier in the season at the same venue. The narrow 4–3 final underlines a tightly contested battle for the title.
