Champions Crowned in Bruges
Winners were crowned across multiple classification groups at the Belgian Open in Bruges, where players from several nations competed at the Trickshot Snooker Club. England’s Carl Gibson secured Group 4 honours with a dominant display, while Dalton Lawrence claimed his maiden title in Group 5 after a strong final performance. In Group 6, Leroy Williams captured his tenth WDBS gold medal, continuing his remarkable consistency on the tour. Mike Gillespie strengthened his standing in Group 7 with a convincing victory, and Gary Taylor made it back-to-back titles in Group 8. The event once again highlighted the growing strength and depth of disability snooker worldwide.
Un-Nooh Produces Magic to Claim World Open Title
Thailand’s Thepchaiya Un-Nooh produced one of the greatest performances of his career to defeat Ronnie O’Sullivan 10-7 in a thrilling World Open final in Yushan. Trailing early, Un-Nooh surged back with a sensational finish, compiling three consecutive centuries, including a superb 147 maximum break.
The victory marks his second ranking title and the biggest win of his career, earning him £175,000 and a significant rise in the world rankings.
O’Sullivan also impressed with three centuries of his own, but Un-Nooh’s late brilliance secured a memorable triumph in an epic contest.
