Igor Figueiredo wins in
Brazilian cueist Igor Figueiredo claimed a dominant 5–1 victory over Noel Rodrigues Moreira in the final of the first Q Tour Americas event of the 2024/25 season, held in Rio de Janeiro. This groundbreaking tournament marked the Q Tour’s first venture into South America, featuring 37 competitors from the region, organized into eight groups. Both finalists and former professional Itaro Santos swept through the group stages. Figueiredo went on to beat Fabio Anderson Luersen 4–1 in the semifinals before outplaying Moreira. The 46‑year‑old, a seasoned former World Snooker Tour player, dropped only one frame all week to clinch the title.
NZ Champion
On July 11–13, Christchurch’s Cuthberts Green Snooker Club hosted the WPBSA Q Tour Asia‑Pacific Event 2. New Zealand’s Cody Turner emerged victorious, defeating Mark Canovan 5–1 in the final to claim his first Q Tour title . The tournament featured 56 players from five nations. Turner dominated the knockout rounds after advancing from group wins over Paul Whapshott and Graham Henderson. He then dispatched Dale Shannon (3–1), Lawrence Millington (4–0), Peter DeGroot (4–1), and blanked Danny Ryan 4–0 in the semi‑final. In the final, Turner surged ahead with a 61 break in the third frame and sealed the win with a 5–1 scoreline .
