Thomson wins
The 2025 Wilson Interiors Hull Disability Snooker Open concluded at Hull’s Tradewell Snooker Club with champions crowned across multiple classification groups. Scotland’s William Thomson secured his second Group 4 title, defeating David Church 3-1. Daniel Kelly defended his Group 3 crown with a 4-1 victory over Nigel Coton, earning his fifth career ranking title and a spot in the upcoming Champion of Champions. Dave Bolton retained his Group 5 title, whitewashing Brynjar Valdimarsson 3-0. Ryan Ryding claimed his first WDBS title in Group 6A, edging Alan Reynolds 3-2. Leroy Williams triumphed in Group 6B, defeating Christopher Goldsworthy 3-0. Mike Gillespie won Group 7, beating Colvin O’Brien 3-1, while Luke Drennan secured back-to-back titles with a 3-0 win over Lewis Knowles in Group 8. David Moritz captured the Challenge Cup, overcoming Alistair Kay 2-1.
Nasa wins Tour card
Thailand’s Chatchapong Nasa earned his first World Snooker Tour card by defeating Liu Linhao 4-0 in the semi-finals of the Asia-Oceania Q School Event 1 in Bangkok. The 27-year-old, who had previously attempted Q School four times, will now compete on the professional circuit for the 2025/26 and 2026/27 seasons. Nasa expressed relief at qualifying early, avoiding the need to re-enter the competition. He credited his success to daily training and support from the Billiard Sports Association of Thailand and his sponsors.
