Liu 2025 English Under-16 Champion
Shaun Liu claimed the 2025 English Under-16 Championship at Club 200 in Manchester with a commanding 5-1 win over Arik Kadir. The victory marks the second national title for the 14-year-old, who also won the Under-14 crown in 2023. Liu was dominant throughout the 57-player event, storming through the group stage with whitewash wins and defeating top opponents including Adam Abbas, William Chambers, and Asten Sahota. In the final, Liu built a 4-0 lead with breaks of 41, 58, and 33. Kadir avoided a whitewash with a 60 break, but Liu sealed victory with a composed 44 to lift the title.
Historic feat for Page
Jackson Page made snooker history by becoming the first player to make two 147 breaks in a single match, earning a £147,000 bonus. The 22-year-old Welshman achieved the feat during his 10-2 victory over Allan Taylor in the third round of Halo World Championship qualifying—his first maximum came yesterday, and the second followed in the final frame today. Page, now with the first two 147s of his career, could pocket up to £172,000, including a £10,000 qualifier bonus and a £15,000 high break prize. His achievement also contributed to a record-breaking 14 maximums in a single season, with today’s being the 216th ever.
